Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountants Association (CCPAA) is going to hold a seminar on Saturday, 16 January, 2016 in the North York Fairview Library.

Canada Tax is a great tool for government arranging their wealth from rich to poor. This seminar will get beginners up to speed and also give tax preparers some new policy updates and tips to deal with CRA.

This Seminar is designed for participants who wish to enhance tax knowledge necessary in the workplace. Our speaker will help you update the new tax policy in 2016 with insightful analysis. In this workshop you will have chance to really explore what you can do for CRA’s tax audit from real case study and discussion. Within only 2 hours, the seminar will help you to figure out what is the audit procedures and the process that you are disputing with CRA, giving ideas and knowledge to both professionals and business in planning tax ahead of time for the comming session year.

1 – Corporate tax updates for 2016

2 – Tax Audits and Objections – how to deal with tax audits and objections with CRA as well as other issues relating to the tax dispute resolution process.

CCPAA has proudly invited Ms. Jeanne Chen, CPA, CA- Senior Tax Manager at Grant Thornton LLP and Mr. Martin Sorensen, Partner of Bennett Jones LLP to share their expertise with you. 

Jeanne Chen, CPA, CA- Senior Tax Manager at Grant Thornton LLP

With over a decade of experience in Canadian corporate tax consulting and compliance for both public and privately held businesses, Jeanne provides tax services to a wide variety of clients including real estate developers and builders, professionals, technology companies, foreign investors and private investment funds.  Jeanne’s expertise includes the taxation of partnerships and trusts, succession and estate planning, dispute resolution with the Canada Revenue Agency and tax considerations for real estate operations.  An experienced presenter and writer on various tax topics, she has also tutored at the CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course.  Jeanne works hard to deliver effective results and strong client satisfaction.

Mr. Martin Sorensen, Partner of Bennett Jones LLP

Martin Sorensen is a tax lawyer at Bennett Jones LLP.  His practice focuses on tax planning and tax litigation.  He has particular expertise in matters related to corporate and international tax planning, debt financing transactions and foreign entities carrying on business in Canada. Martin also advises on general income tax matters, provincial mining tax, federal and provincial sales taxes, and payroll taxes.
