Danzel Pinto
Manager, Assurance Services, Grant Thornton LLP
Danzel has over 5 years of experience in business advisory and assurance services and his practice is focused primarily on NPOs ranging from charities to associations to private clubs. Danzel is an active member of Grant Thornton’s NPO specialty team, including the Charities, Private Club and Association subsectors. Danzel also organizes bimonthly meetings of Grant Thornton team members to provide a forum to discuss issues impacting NPOs. Outside of client work, Danzel has a passion for community involvement, including volunteering for the United Way and Parkinson Society Canada and organizing Grant Thornton’s participation and fundraising efforts for the Ride for Juvenile Diabetes for the Greater Toronto Area. He is also the leader of the youth program at his church.
Cliff Goldfarb
Partner, Gardiner Roberts LLP
With extensive experience in not-for-profit and charitable organizations, corporate and commercial law and commercial real estate, Cliff provides his clients with the benefit of his broad range of legal knowledge.
Cliff is practice leader for Gardiner Roberts LLP Non-Profit and Charities Law group. He acts for non-profit and charitable organizations. He counsels boards of directors on procedural matters, contracts, employment matters, business activities, grant applications, taxation and regulatory compliance.
Cliff also works with charitable donors and their advisors. Cliff is the winner of the 2012 AMS/John Hodgson Award of the Ontario Bar Association Charity & Not-for-Profit Section.
As a business advisor, he acts for public and private companies, partnerships, joint ventures, entrepreneurs and professionals, assisting them in all aspects of their establishment, financing, relationships, business activities and succession.
Cliff is a recognized expert in commercial leasing, advising clients on a broad range of lease negotiations. He also acts on the acquisition and financing of commercial properties.
In addition to his three primary areas of practice, Cliff assists clients with wills, trusts and estate planning and administration, and is a registered trademark agent.
Brian Wynn
Partner, Gardiner Roberts LLP
Brian Wynn provides counsel to a broad range of commercial, non-profit, entertainment and media clients.
As corporate counsel he advises on all stages of growth with experience drafting and negotiating shareholders’ agreements, joint-venture contracts and secured financing materials for domestic and international transactions.
As counsel to a major entertainment, sport and recreation insurance underwriter, Brian is one of a select few lawyers in North America to act as a clearance attorney specializing in copyright and trademark infringement, privacy, right of publicity, unfair competition and defamation matters. He also advises numerous producers, writers and directors in various media ventures. Acting as an investigator or mediator, Brian has also assisted in the dispute-resolution process with his specialized knowledge of film production and financing structures.
At the Schulich School of Business, York University, he lectures on the Legal Aspects of Media and Entertainment.
Brian is also active in the growing not-for-profit sector, both in the arts and in the sport/recreation field. He is counsel to Ontario’s two major sport and recreation coordinating agencies and is on the board of Ovarian Cancer Canada. He consults on risk management and liability for sport and recreation professionals.
