Speakers bio:

 

Shelyane Li, CPA, CA

 

Shelyane is a senior audit manager in KPMG’s Not-for-Profit practice. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the Schulich School of Business at York University.

 

Shelyane specializes in leading financial and special-purpose audits of not-for-profit organizations including colleges, universities, school boards, charities, foundations, municipalities, membership associations and others in the NPO sector.

 

Shelyane started with KPMG in 2003 and over her 10-plus years’ experience, has acquired a broad knowledge base enabling her to service clients reporting under various frameworks including those applicable to private enterprises and pension plans, and IFRS, but her specialization is in public sector accounting and accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations.

 

 

Michelle Tran, CPA, CA

 

Michelle is a Manager in the assurance practice at Grant Thornton LLP. She started her career in the public practice in 2008 and has been involved in assurance services for not-for-profit organizations and charities for a number of years. Michelle specializes in audit and risk management for public sector, including charities, missions, societies and private clubs.
