CCPAA Tax Seminar on New TOSI rules and General Update

Background

The new Tax On Split Income (TOSI) rules, which became effective on January 1st, 2018, are designed to prevent income splitting and tax the “split income” at the highest marginal tax rate unless an exemption applies. The new TOSI rules remained quite complex and have a broader application to include adult family members using a private company.

Seminar Highlight

Canadian-Chinese Professional Accountants Association (CCPAA) invites you to join us on March 10th, 2019 for an in-depth seminar on the hottest tax topic of the year.

During our three-hour seminar, we will discuss the TOSI rules followed by some general tax updates. In order to navigate individuals who practice in this area, we are honoured to have Armando Minicucci and Ying Liu from Grant Thornton LLP as our speakers. Armando is GT’s tax partner who is often called upon by national media to speak to current tax matters, including being regularly featured on the CTV National News. Ying is the Manager in the Domestic Tax group of GT who is also the honoured speaker of previous CCPAA’s tax seminar.

We sincerely hope this seminar would help you get a deeper understanding of the new tax rules to better arrange business affairs and prevent unintended tax consequences.
